Baseball Falls To New Haven, 9-5

West Haven, CT - The Adelphi baseball team traveled to West Haven, Connecticut on April 18 to take on New Haven in a conference match-up. The Chargers hung eight runs on Adelphi before the Panthers responded with five runs over the last four innings, falling 9-5. With the loss Adelphi falls to 17-14 overall and 9-6 in the conference, while New Haven improves to 7-17 overall and 2-10 in the NYCAC.

Adelphi starter Chris Palladino (East Meadow, N.Y.) gave up five runs on four hits in three innings of work, while New Haven starter Dan Sausville (Schenectady, N.Y.) went the distance for the Chargers and did not allow a run until the sixth.

The Panthers threatened in the seventh and the ninth, scoring two runs in both innings but it was not enough as Adelphi fell 9-5. Brian Rath (Wantagh, N.Y.) led Adelphi at the plate, going 2-5 with two RBI.

Adelphi returns to action on April 20 when they travel to Rockville Centre to take on Molloy College at 3:00 pm.
