Women's Lacrosse Routs Regis, 15-3

Garden City, N.Y. - Sophomore Diana Lopez (Farmingville, N.Y.) collected four goals and three assists to lead #4 Adelphi University to a 15-3 victory over Regis University in women's lacrosse action on Sunday at Stiles Field. The Panthers improve to 8-1 on the season while the Rangers drop to 1-4.

Senior Katherine Hock (Mineola, N.Y.) scored the first of her four goals in the opening minute on a feed from junior Dawn Anselmin (Lynbrook, N.Y.). Diana and Lauren Lopez (Farmingville, N.Y.) each took turns collecting the next four Adelphi goals to extend the lead to 5-0. The Panthers built up an 11-0 lead when the sophomore Chrissy Yetter (Silver Spring, MD) notched the Rangers' first goal in the 29th minute.

In the second half, Adelphi took just 13 shots compared with 26 in the first half. Anselmin scored her second goal of the afternoon in the 31st minute to spur a 3-0 run. Yetter gave Regis its second goal in the 39th minute, 14-2. Anselmin found the back of the net for the third time on a free position to push the lead back to 15-2. Senior Salli Schlacks (Glen Ellyn, IL) gave the Rangers their final goal in the 51st minute.

Sophomore Allyson Murphy (Williston Park, N.Y.) had four saves for Adelphi while sophomore Jen Ledford (Parker, CO) collected 10 saves for Regis.

Adelphi returns to action next Saturday, April 16 traveling to West Haven, Connecticut to take on the University of New Haven at 1:00 p.m.
