Box Score

Boca Raton, Florida - The Adelphi baseball team opened the 2005 season with an impressive 13-3 win over Lewis. Mike Myers (Wantagh, N.Y.) led the way, giving up just one hit and striking out seven in six scoreless innings on the mound.

Roger Mischel (Whitestone, N.Y.) paced the Panthers at the plate with a four hit and four RBI performance, while teammate Doug Anderson (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) chipped in three hits. Both Matt DeWitt (North Bellmore, N.Y.) and Thomas Cali (Shirley, N.Y.) hit long solo homeruns in the win.

"I was very pleased with the way we played," said Head Coach Dom Scala. "It was out first game outdoors and our intensity level was high, if we can continue to play with that intensity we will be successful this season."

Adelphi returns to action on Saturday, March 5, when they take on Mercyhurst at 2:00 pm.
