The Adelphi men's basketball team out rebounded Concordia College 39-26 and held the Clippers to 35 percent shooting from the field in route to their 12th straight win. With the win the Panthers improve to 16-3 overall and 15-1 in the NYCAC, while Concordia falls to 1-18 overall and 1-15 in conference action.
Adelphi held Concordia to just 20 points in the first half en route to a 27-20 halftime advantage. In the first period of play the Panthers held Concordia to just 29.6 percent shooting from the field. The Clippers shot 44 percent in the second half but Adelphi committed just seven turnovers in the game and out rebounded Concordia 39-26.
Eric Martin (Laurelton, N.Y.) scored 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds for Adelphi. James Samuels (Uniondale, N.Y.) was the only other Panther in double figures with 14 points. Jamaal Wagner (Jamaica, N.Y.) also had a solid game, chipping in nine points and six rebounds.
Brian Antonelli (Staten Island, N.Y.) and Andre Taylor (Long Island, N.Y.) each contributed 10 points and four rebounds in the loss. Sophomore Jonathan Duperon (Philadelphia, PA) chipped in nine points and three assists.
The Panthers return to action on Saturday, February 5th when they travel to Rockville Center, New York to take on host Molloy at 3:00 pm.
