Men's Basketball Stifles New Haven, 50-35

Garden City, N.Y. - The Adelphi men's basketball team held visiting New Haven to just 26.9 percent shooting from the field and 16 points in the first half to cruise to a 50-35 win. With the win Adelphi extends their win streak to 11 games and improve to 16-3 overall and 15-1 in the NYCAC, while New Haven falls to 5-12 and 4-10 in conference action.

Adelphi opened the game by holding the Chargers to four points in the first 10 minutes of action to build an 18-4 advantage. New Haven recovered to match Adelphi basket for basket the rest of the half but found themselves in a 31-16 hole as time expired in the first.

The second half was more of the same as Adelphi pushed out to a 21 point lead, 41-20 with 11:44 to play. New Haven managed to cut the margin to 12 with 5:24 to play but that was as close as the Chargers would get, falling 50-35.

Kimani Blaize (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led the way for Adelphi with a game-high 13 points, six rebounds and four steals. Ben Kenyon (Union, NJ) also chipped in a game-high 13 points, while James Samuels (Uniondale, N.Y.) contributed 12 points and eight rebounds.

John Sullivan (Bridgeport, CT) was the only Charger in double-figures, scoring 11 points and adding a game-high nine boards.

Adelphi returns to action on February 3, when they travel to Bronxville, New York to take on Concordia at 7:00 pm.
