Men's Basketball Tripped Up By Queens, 68-60

Flushing, N.Y. - The Adelphi men's basketball team out rebounded the host Queens College Knights, 35-30 and forced 20 turnovers but could not overcome 21 turnovers of their own, falling 68-60. With the loss Adelphi evens their record at 3-3 overall and 1-1 in the NYCAC, while Queens improves to 4-2 overall and 2-0 in conference action.

The Knights hit 6-of-10 attempts from behind the three-point line in the first half and built a substantial lead, but the Panthers clawed back into the game and got a jumper from Mike Mosby (Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) as time expired to enter the half trailing by just two, 32-30. Queens used the free throw line to sink the Panthers in the second half, converting 13 of 17 trips to collect a 68-60 win.

Bradd Wierzbicki (Maspeth, N.Y.) led all scorers with 21 points, while teammates Shaun Bertin (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Lance Hazel (Jamaica, N.Y.) added 18 and 12 points.

Eric Martin (Laurelton, N.Y.) led three Panther in double-figures with 13 points and six rebounds. Jamaal Wagner (Jamaica, N.Y.) chipped in 11, while Donnell Cummings (South Ozone Park, N.Y.) added 10.

Adelphi returns to action on Wednesday, December 7 when they host Mercy College at 7:30 pm in Woodruff Hall.
