Women's Soccer Rolls St. Thomas Aquinas, 5-0

Garden City, N.Y. - The Panthers got five goals from four different players in the first 27 minutes of action, rolling to a 5-0 win. With the win Adelphi improves to 9-3-1 overall and 7-1 in the conference, while St. Thomas Aquinas falls to 4-11 overall and 1-7 in NYCAC play.

Lauren Lopez (Framingville, N.Y.) opened the scoring in the third minute of action when she collected a Jessica Marra (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) feed and found the back of the net. Less then six minutes later Marra added a goal to her assist, putting Adelphi ahead 2-0.

In the 11th minute Erin Klimkowski (Westbury, N.Y.) pushed Adelphi's cushion to 3-0 with her 12th goal of the year. Lopez notched her second goal of the game in the 16th minute of play off of a Shannon McEntee (Valley Stream, N.Y.) assist and Denise Auer (Holbrook, N.Y.) closed out the scoring, putting Adelphi ahead 5-0.

Patricia Roth (Bayside, N.Y.) collected seven saves in the loss, while Christine Conway (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) made two saves to collect her eighth shut out of the year.

Adelphi returns to action on Saturday, October 29 when they travel to Flushing, New York for a noon match-up with Queens College.
