Oct. 22, 2005

Box Score

Garden City, N.Y. - Freshman Erin Klimkowski (Westbury, N.Y.) found the back of the net in the 86th minute of action to give Adelphi a 1-0, non-conference win over visiting Bloomsburg University on Homecoming. With the win Adelphi improves to 7-3-1 overall, while Bloomsburg falls to 5-7-4.

The first half of action was played primarily between the 18's as both teams combined for just five shots and four corner kicks. The second half saw more of the same action, with neither team able to create much of an advantage.

With just over four minutes left on the clock senior Lea Brady (Holbrook, N.Y.) sent a through ball to a streaking Klimkowski who collected the ball in stride and slipped a shot on the ground past Bloomsburg goalkeeper Robin Gerber (Succasuna, NJ) and into the Husky net. Klimkowski's goal would prove to be the game winner, giving Adelphi a 1-0 win.

Gerber collected one save in the loss, while Christine Conway made three saves to pick up her sixth shut out of the season.

The Panthers return to action on Wednesday, October 26 when they play host to NYCAC foe St. Thomas Aquinas at 3:30 pm.
