The Adelphi men's soccer team traveled to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania to take on LeHigh University on October 18. The Panthers gave up two goals in the first 15 minutes of action and could not recover, falling 4-0. With the loss Adelphi falls to 2-11-1 overall, while Lehigh improves to 8-2-1.
Lehigh's John O'Reilly got things going when he took a pass from senior Peter Classi and beat Panther keeper Michael Hurley for a 1-0 Lehigh lead at the 7:46 mark. Jim Stevens then put the Mountain Hawks up 2-0 off of a direct kick at the 12:02 mark, and did it one more time off of another direct kick at the 16:11 mark, giving Lehigh a comfortable 3-0 cushion.
Adam Williamson was fouled inside of the box by a Panther defender in the 28th minute of action, and converted the ensuing penalty kick, giving the Mountain Hawks a 4-0 lead in the match.
Lehigh's Charlie Sales and Jim Morahan made three saves combined to pick up the shut out, while Hurley picked up three saves.
Adelphi returns to action on Saturday, October 22 when they host ASC opponent Longwood at 12:00 pm on Stiles Field.
