Volleyball Falls To Dowling, 3-1

Oakdale, N.Y. - Adelphi traveled to Oakdale, New York to take on conference rival Dowling College on Tuesday. The Panthers could not overcome Dowling's 68 kills, falling three games to one. With the loss Adelphi's record stands at 6-9 overall and 1-2 in the conference, while Dowling improved to 11-1 overall and remained perfect in the NYCAC at 4-0.

Dowling took the first game from Adelphi by a score of 30-20. In the second game the Panthers rallied but Dowling was still able to pull out a win, 30-25. In the third game Adelphi's hard work paid off, as the Panthers won the third game 30-24. But Adelphi seemed to run out of momentum in the fourth game, falling 30-18.

Marta Slodnik (Gdynia, Poland) led everyone with a game-high 27 kills and added eight digs, teammate Justyna Michon chipped in 18 kills and nine digs. Jana Cleveland (Virginia Beach, VA) collected a game-high 54 assists.

The Panthers were led by Christina Vandling (Endicott, N.Y.) who had a team-high 11 kills. Brittany Addeo (Minden, NV) dished out 32 assists and teammate Rachael Cornick (Endicott, N.Y.) collected 13 digs to go with two service aces.

The Panthers return to action on Thursday, September 30th when they travel to Bronxville, N.Y. for a 7:00 pm NYCAC match-up with Concordia.
