Adelphi scored the first goal of the game 1:46 in to action but C.W. Post scored six of the next seven goals and the Panthers could not close the gap, losing by a final count of 15-9. With the loss the second ranked Panthers fall to 11-1 overall while top ranked C.W. Post improves to 14-0.
Adelphi's Diana Lopez (Farmingville, N.Y.) and Lauren Lopez (Farmingville, N.Y.) scored two of the first three goals of the game to give the Panthers an early 2-1 advantage. But C.W. Post answered with five straight goals to take a 6-2 edge with 4:46 to play in the first half.
Katherine Hock (Mineola, N.Y.) scored back-to-back goals in the just 25 seconds apart to bring Adelphi within two goals of the Pioneers. But C.W. Post scored with just five seconds remaining in the first half to push their lead back to three.
The Pioneers came out and scored the first three goals of the second half, taking a 10-4 lead and putting the game out of reach. Adelphi was called for 49 fouls, while C.W. Post committed just 21; this kept the Panthers from developing a rhythm.
Hock led the Panthers with two goals and an assist, while teammate Allyson Murphy (Williston Park, N.Y.) collected seven saves.
