Adelphi Falls to Caldwell; 5-0, 2-1

Garden City, N.Y. - The Adelphi softball team fell to Caldwell College, 5-0 and 2-1 in a non-conference make-up game this afternoon. The Panthers drop to 10-8-1 overall, while the Cougars pick up their tenth straight win to improve to 18-3.

Game One- The Panthers struggled against Caldwell pitcher Corinne Reiser who allowed just one-hit in the contest. The Cougars led 5-0 in the fourth inning and never looked back.

Adelphi had no runs on one hit and two errors. Caldwell had five runs on seven hits with no errors.

Game Two- After a quiet first inning, junior Theresa Kotulak hammered a solo homerun in the bottom of the second to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead. The Cougars rallied back in the next inning, scoring two runs.

Adelphi had one run and three hits and no errors. Caldwell had two runs on six hits and no errors.

Next up, the Panthers head to Massachusetts where they begin a two-game road trip, beginning with Merrimack College tomorrow afternoon. They finish up at American International on Friday. Game times for both are 1:00 p.m.
