Adelphi Falls To Concordia, 9-4

Garden City, N.Y. - Adelphi gave up six runs in the first four innings and made three errors in their 9-4 loss to Concordia. With the loss Adelphi falls to 10-7 overall and 1-2 in the NYCAC, while Concordia improves to 10-13 overall and 4-2 in conference play.

Adelphi stayed close with Concordia early, holding the Clippers to just one run through two innings. But in the third inning Concordia exploded for three runs, and extended their lead by tacking on two more in the fourth and holding Adelphi scoreless.

The Panthers mounted a late rally, scoring two runs in the eighth and ninth but it was too little to late as Concordia walked away with a 9-4 decision. Erik Pelkaus (Bethpage, N.Y.) and Bryan Horrmann (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) both went 2-3 from the plate. Pelkaus also collected a walk and a run scored, while Horrmann picked up two RBI's.

The Panthers return to action Saturday, April 3rd when they travel to New Haven for a two-game set that is will start at 11:00 am.
