Adelphi Pushes Win Streak To Three

Garden City, N.Y. - The Panthers topped Felician College on Sunday 10-8 and Nyack 11-3, Monday night to extend their win streak to three games. The two victories push the Panthers into double digits in the win column with a record of 10-6 overall. Felician fell to 3-15 on the season and Nyack dropped to 8-16.

Against Felician the Panthers used a five run fourth inning to take a 7-6 lead. Adelphi then tacked on two more runs in the sixth to put the game out of reach. Matt DeWitt (North Bellmore, N.Y.) continued his strong play, going 3-5 with an RBI and a run scored on the day. Ricky Nicholson (Massapequa, N.Y.) also came alive at the plate, going 3-5 with two runs scored.

Adelphi took on Nyack in their first night game of the season on Monday. The Panthers punished Nyack right from the start, scoring three-runs in the first and third innings. Thomas Cali (Shirley, N.Y.) went 3-5 from the plate with an RBI and a run scored. Bryan Horrmann (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) was 1-5 with four RBI's and put the game out of reach with a three run home run in the fifth. Mike Myers (Wantagh, N.Y.) pitched three scoreless innings of relief in the middle innings to pick up the first win of his college career.

The Panthers will try to extend their win streak to four on March 31st, when they travel to Rockville Center to take on Molloy College at 3:00 pm.
