Final Stats

Garden City, N.Y. - The Adelphi men's tennis team finished a grueling three match road trip at home yesterday with a win over Caldwell. The Panthers dropped the other two matches on the road to Kutztown and Philadelphia. Adelphi finished the weekend 1-2 overall and now sit at an even 3-3 overall and 0-2 in conference play.

Adelphi opened the weekend Friday at Kuztown University. The Panthers played without some key players and dropped all but three matches in straight sets. The final score of the match was Kutztown 9, Adelphi 0.

On Saturday Adelphi traveled to Philadelphia University hoping to pick up their first conference win of the season. Both Mike Stansfield (Hollis, N.Y.) and Devin Pflum (Flushing, N.Y.) won their singles matches in three sets. Faheem Romi (Dhaka, Bangladesh) and Rahil Sayed (Smithtown, N.Y.) also won their doubles match, 8-3. But it was not enough as the Rams topped Adelphi 6-3.

The Panthers finished their three day trip at home against Caldwell. The Panthers took advantage of the familiar surroundings, dropping just one match on their way to an 8-1 victory.

The Panthers return to action Wednesday, March 31st when they play host to visiting NYCAC rival St. Thomas Aquinas at 3:30 pm.
