Freshman Diana Lopez recorded five goals and an assist to lead
No. 5 Adelphi University to a 20-2 win over American International College in women's
lacrosse action Sunday afternoon at John Homer Miller Field. The Panthers
remain perfect at 3-0 on the season while the Yellow Jackets fall to 1-2.
Freshman Lauren Lopez tallied four goals while junior Katherine Hock and senor Leigh Fennessey had three goals apiece. Senior Karen Sulinski and sophomore Dawn Anselman each
recorded a pair of assists.
Freshman Lindsey Wolfe (Westfield, Mass.) had both of AIC's goals while
Kristy McIntyre (Falmouth, Mass.) added an assist.
The Panthers jumped out to a 3-0 lead just under seven minutes into the
contest before Wolfe's first goal at the 13:19 mark made it 3-1. Adelphi
then ran off 11 unanswered goals to make it a 14-1 game at halftime then
tacked on four more in the first nine minutes of the second half. Wolfe's
second tally came with 19:42 to play.
Megan Trystman (Kwazulu Natal, South Africa) made 11 stops in net for AIC.
The Panthers return on Thursday, April 1, hosting Philadelphia University at 3:30 p.m.
