Adelphi Falls to Caldwell, 12-2

Garden City, N.Y. - Adelphi committed five errors and gave up 10 runs in the last three innings to fall to Caldwell College 12-2. With the loss Adelphi drops to 7-5 on the season while Caldwell improves to 9-6 overall.

The Panthers came out aggressive in the first inning and it paid off as Adelphi jumped out to an early 2-0 lead. Junior Roger Mischel (Whitestone, N.Y.) pitched an outstanding game before leaving after the fifth with Adelphi ahead 2-1. Mischel struck out five while giving up just one walk.

Caldwell's bats came alive in the last four innings, as the Cougars scored 11 runs. Adelphi could not find their offense and sputtered, producing just two hits for the game and no runs after the first.

The Panthers return to action Wednesday, March 24th when they play host to Dowling College at 3:00 pm to open their conference schedule.
