The Adelphi University men's basketball team shot just 26.6 percent (17-of-64) on the night to suffer a tough 74-53 loss at St. Thomas Aquinas this Saturday afternoon. The Panthers have loss five of their last eight, dropping to 13-12 on the season and 11-11 in the NYCAC.
Sophomore Jamaal Wagner led all players with a game-high 17 points, including 3-of-5 from beyond the arc. Freshman Kimani Blaize, had 10 points.
This would prove to be the only bright spot for the Panthers who struggled all night from the field. The Spartans were 44 percent from the field with three players in double figures led by Marcel Allen with 15 points.
Adelphi returns to action next Wednesday, February 25, hosting the University of Bridgeport in the final home game of the regular season. Tip off is 7:30 p.m.
