Game One Box Score| Game Two Box Score

Garden City, N.Y. - The No.2 seed Adelphi University women's soccer team defeated No. 3 the University of New Haven, 3-0, in the semi-finals of the NYCAC Soccer Tournament this morning at Stiles Field. The Panthers improve to 16-3 and advance to Sunday's final against Southampton at 1 pm. The Chargers fall to 11-7-1.

Sophomore Lea Brady (Holbrook, N.Y.) netted the first of two goals in the 10th minute. Sophomore Catherine Wyndham (Lynbrook, N.Y.) set up the play, passing the ball to senior Josephine Coiro (West Babylon, N.Y.) who chipped it to a waiting Brady. She booted the ball past UNH goalie Mauren MacConnell (West Islip, N.Y.) into the right net to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead. Coiro collected her second assist less than four minutes later as she passed the ball to sophomore Lauren Lopez (Farmingville, N.Y.). Lopez's shot from about 20 yards out slipped just out of reach of MacConnell and rolled into the lower right corner at 13:38.

Wind gusts of up to 35 miles per hour kept the contest interesting as both teams struggled for ball control. The Panthers held a 7-4 shot advantage over the Chargers. While UNH had seven corner kicks compared to just two for Adelphi.

Brady picked up her second goal in the 56th minute as she managed to collect and errant shot from Coiro, slipping the ball into the net. The Panthers held on for the victory, 3-0.

Adelphi's Christine Conway (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) had two stops in goal for her seventh shutout of the season.

In the second game, top-seeded Southampton defeated #4 University of Bridgeport, 1-0. Junior Denise Domena (Brentwood, N.Y.) scored unassisted in the 32nd minute. The Colonials improve to 17-0-2 while the Purple Knights are 12-6-1.

Adelphi will be looking for redemption against Southampton this Sunday. The Colonials handed the Panthers a 3-0 loss on October 12.
