The Adelphi men's soccer team closed out the season with a 6-1 victory over Atlantic Soccer Conference (ASC) rival Philadelphia on Saturday, November 13th. Senior Tal Sheinfeld (Even Yehoda, Israel) scored three goals and assisted on two others in the win. With the win the Panthers end the season with a record of 6-9-1 overall and 1-3-1 in the ASC, while Philadelphia is 4-14-1 overall and 0-4-1 in the conference.
Philadelphia opened the scoring in the 6th minute when Michael Millar scored to put the Rams on top 1-0. The Panthers evened the score in the 16th minute when Frank Cascio (Bay Shore, N.Y.) scored his first goal of the season off of a corner kick from Sheinfeld.
In the second half the Panthers pulled away. Adelphi took the lead in the 47th minute when Sheinfeld scored the first of his three goals. Freshman Rob Philippou (Manhasset, N.Y.) scored the other two goals for the Adelphi.
Justin Hewins made six saves for Philadelphia, while Michael Hurley (Freeport, N.Y.) collected one save in the win.
