Adelphi opened the game with a three-pointer from McCormack, but from then on it was a back and forth battle. The Clippers closed to within four on a free throw by Brown with 3:04 left to play. Dwayne Thompson (Cambria Heights, N.Y.) answered right back for the panthers extended Adelphi's lead to 59-53.

Concordia closed to within striking distance again with just 1:33 left in the game on a free throw by Jeff Harper (Brooklyn, N.Y.). Harper's free throw pulled Concordia to within five, 61-56. But Thompson hit two free throws to put Adelphi up seven, and McCormack hit three of four free throws down the stretch to ice the game for Adelphi.

McCormack led the Panthers with a season-high 20 points and tied a career-high with 11 boards for his first double-double of the season.

Leon Martinez (Bronx, N.Y.) paced the Clippers with a team-high 18 points and six rebounds. Brown was the only other player in the game who scored in double figures, adding 14 points and five assists.
