Washington D.C. - Adelphi defeated Howard yesterday by a score of 1-0, the win raises Adelphi's record to 5-2-1 overall and 1-0 in the Atlantic Soccer Conference. With the loss Howard falls to 1-7 overall and 0-1 in the Atlantic Soccer Conference. Joseph Afful scored the game winner for the Panthers in the 38th minute.

Tom Cunningham picked up his fourth win of the season as the Panthers opened conference play with a win. Cunningham made five saves and Howard goalie Jason Williams also recorded five saves. Howard out shot Adelphi 12-9 overall, and 4-1 in the second half.

The Panthers return to action this Tuesday, September 30th when they host #6 St. John's. Kick-off will take place at 4 pm on Stiles Field.
