Junior Jesse Sorensen collected five goals and one assist to lead the No. 7 Adelphi men's lacrosse team to a 17-12 conference win over Dowling College yesterday afternoon. The Panthers improve to 3-1 on the season and 1-0 in the NYCAC. Adelphi handed the Golden Lions their first loss of the season as they drop to 2-1 overall and 1-1 in the NYCAC.
Seniors David Toy and Tyler Heavenor each notched four goals for the Panthers as they held a 7-4 lead at the end of the second quarter. Kim Delfs and freshman Wesley Green added two goals each.
Freshman Chris Dupignac led Dowling with three goals and one assists.
Senior goalie Mark Miller had 19 saves, while Dowling's Bryan Campo had 20 saves.
Adelphi is back in action this Saturday when they traveling to Merrimack College for a 1:00 p.m. contest.
