Women's Basketball Rolls Past Queens College, 76-62

Flushing, N.Y. - Sophomore Jesse Dlabola collected 17 of her career-high 26 points in the first half to lead the Adelphi women's basketball team to a 76-62 win over Queens College on Tuesday night. The Panthers pick up their fourth straight win, improving to 14-8 and 13-5 in the NYCAC.

Dlabola was 4-of-6 from beyond the arc, adding seven steals and three assists to her performance. Sophomore Meranne Whitney had 14 points and four rebounds. Junior Jaime Douglas chipped in 12 points, including six-for-six from the free throw line, along eight rebounds.

The Panthers jumped out to a 37-23 lead in the first half, leading by as much as 20 points in the game. Adelphi shot 52 percent in the second half to coast to a 76-62 victory over Queens.

Shonda Holder led the Lady Knights with 21 points and nine rebounds.

Adelphi returns to Woodruff Hall this Saturday, hosting St. Thomas Aquinas in the first of a three-game home stand. Game time is 5:30 p.m.

Saturday is also the Panthers alumni game, which should take place at 11:00 a.m.
