Women's Soccer Blanks Queens, 3-0

Flushing, N.Y. - For the eighth consecutive contest, the No. 6 ranked Adelphi University women's soccer team held its opponent scoreless, recording a 3-0 conference win over Queens College this Saturday. The Panthers improve to 13-1-1 and 9-0 in the NYCAC, while the Knights drop to 8-5-1 overall and 4-3-1 in the NYCAC.

Senior Luciana Pace scored the first of her two goals in the fourth minute of play on an assist by Lena Dunning. The Panthers bombarded the Knights on shots in the first half, holding a 16-4 advantage.

Adelphi continued to dominate on shots in the second half, 18-3, and also held a 9-1 advantage in corner kicks on the game. Junior Josephine Coiro gave Adelphi a 2-0 lead in the 58th minute on a chip inside the left post and past Queens' goalie Lauren Usewicz. Pace followed up with the final goal of the afternoon and her tenth of the season, in the 80th minute.

Senior Andrea Fasano had three saves on the day for 11th shutout of the season. Usewicz had 17 saves for Queens.

Adelphi is back in action next Wednesday, traveling to West Chester for a 2:30 p.m. scheduled kick off.
