Old Westbury, N.Y.--Adelphi's Marissa Cotilletta scored the first Panther goal to help Adelphi extend their win streak to twelve and Andrea Fasano made four saves in goal to extend her shut out streak to eight games in Adelphi's 2-0 win over NYIT. With the win the sixth ranked Panthers improve to 12-1-1 overall and 8-0 in the NYCAC, while NYIT falls to 10-5-1 overall and 4-4-1 in NYCAC play.
The game was tightly contested for the first 30 minutes as the Lady Bears pressured Adelphi, recording three shots on goal. But Marissa Cotilletta gave Adelphi a 1-0 lead when she gathered a corner from Luciana Pace in front of the net and beat NYIT goalkeeper Lauren Phillips. Seven minutes later, Lauren Lopez netted Adelphi's second goal of the game as she scored off of a cross from Lena Dunning.
Adelphi dominated the play for most of the game, out-shooting NYIT 24-5 in the game. Phillips made 14 saves for NYIT in the loss.
Adelphi returns to action Saturday, October 25th when they travel to Queens College for a Noon kick-off.
