Garden City , N.Y. - Adelphi topped Molloy in five games to improve to 5-10 overall and 2-2 in NYCAC play. With the loss Molloy dropped to 1-13 overall and remains winless in the NYCAC. Adelphi stumbled out of the gate dropping the first game 30-28. The Panthers rallied in the second game of the match allowing Molloy to score only ten points off of their own serves. Adelphi too the second game 30-22 to even the match at one.

Adelphi came out for the third game on fire; the Panthers won 15 consecutive points on the serve on Meaghan Joyce. When Joyce was done serving Adelphi had a 16-1 lead. The Panthers then scored eight points off the serve of Rachael Cornick to put the game out of reach at 29-7. Molloy could only manage three points off of its own serve in the third game.

In the fourth game Molloy rebounded to play well and put the pressure back on the Panthers. Adelphi evened the game at 29-29, after winning a side-out and two points off of a serve. But the game went back and forth after that until Molloy won the game, 32-30. Adelphi out lasted Molloy and took the fifth and final game, 15-6.

Adelphi returns to action Thursday, October 16th when the Panthers travel to Mercy College for another NYCAC contest.
