The Adelphi men's basketball team suffered its worst loss of the season, falling to the University of New Haven, 73-53, Tuesday night at Charger Arena. The Panthers drop to 8-6 overall and 7-4 in the NYCAC. The Chargers improve to 10-3 overall and 8-3 in the NYCAC.
Junior Thomas McCormack was the only Adelphi player to score in double figures with 11 points, as the Panthers shot a season-low 28.6 percent from the field. Senior Wayne Nelson pulled down an team-high seven rebounds.
Adelphi trailed by 10 points, 35-25, at the end of the first half, connecting on just 6 of 25 attempts from the field. The Chargers were 50 percent from the first half, and finished the game hitting 51 percent from the field.
UNH also dominated the boards, outrebounding the Panthers 44-34.
The Panthers return to action on Thursday, heading back to Connecticut, this time to face conference foe Bridgeport University. Game time is schedule for 8:00 p.m.
