Women's Soccer Shutouts STAC, 2-0

Sparkill, N.Y. - The Adelphi University women's soccer team extended its win streak to seven, defeating St. Thomas Aquinas, 2-0, in a mid-week conference match-up. The Panthers improve to 3-0 in the NYCAC. The Spartans drop to 1-4 overall and 0-3 in the conference.

Jennifer Garone picked up the first Panther goal in the 23rd minute of the first half.

Junior Luciana Pace notched the game-winner on an assist from Marissa Cotilletta with 18:20 remaining in the contest.

Andrea Fasano picked up three saves for Adelphi en route to her third consecutive shutout. St. Thomas Aquinas had 12 saves.

With a 7-0 record, the Panthers are on their best season start since 1997 when Adelphi went 17-0 on their way to an 18-2 season.

Adelphi returns home on Saturday, September 28, hosting Bridgeport at 2:00 p.m.
