Garden City, N.Y. - The Adelphi University men's soccer team fell to Cornell University, 1-0, Saturday afternoon at Stiles Field. The Panthers drop to 1-6 overall, while the Big Red improves to 2-1-1.

Both teams remained scoreless in the first 45:00 minutes of play. In the second half, freshman forward Andrew George (Glenmoore, PA) scored the only goal of the day from 18 yards out past Adelphi goalkeeper Igor Yatsenko (Brooklyn, N.Y.) in the 51st minute.

The Panthers outshot the Big Red, 19-13, and held a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks, but were unable to connect for a goal.

Doug Allan (Irvine, CA) collected 11 saves for Cornell in their first shutout of the season. Yatsenko had six saves for Adelphi.

Adelphi continues its three-game home stand, hosting Seton Hall on Wednesday at Stiles Field. Kick off is at 4:00 p.m.
