The Adelphi volleyball team finished 1-2 at the Kutztown University Challenge this past weekend. Senior outside hitter Mary Krines and senior setter Brianne MacArthur were each named to the All-Tournament team. Adelphi improves to 6-2 overall.

In the first match on Friday, Adelphi fell to host Kuztown, 3-0. The Panthers almost forced a fourth game in the match, dragging out the third game to a 37-39 nail-biter. Krines led the team with 16 kills and freshman Jessica Haynes had 11 kills.

The Panthers rallied back to defeat the College of St. Rose in their second match on Saturday, 3-0. Krines and Haynes again led the team in kills with 12 and 10, respectively.

In the third game, Assumption topped Adelphi 3-1. Senior Bernadette Mearini picked up her second double-double of the season to lead the team with 13 kills and 11 digs. Cynthia Prizzi notched 12 kills.

On the tournament, MacArthur averaged 40.7 assists per match.

Adelphi returns home to host Bridgeport in a conference match-up on Wednesday, September 18, at 7:00 p.m. in Woodruff Hall.
