Sophomore Josephine Coiro and junior Luciana Pace each scored two goals apiece to lead the Adelphi University Women's soccer team to a 6-0 conference win over Molloy College, Wednesday afternoon at Stiles Field. Adelphi improves to 4-0 overall and 1-0 in the NYCAC. Molloy falls to 0-2 and 0-1 in the conference.
Junior Marissa Cotilletta scored the first Adelphi goal in the 12th minute on a shot from inside the box. Less than three minutes later, Pace scored on an assist from junior Karen Sulinski to give the Panthers a 2-0 lead. Coiro picked up the next two Adelphi goals, the second of which was assisted by junior Lena Dunning. Junior Domonique Riccardo closed out the first half with a goal during injury time on a pass from Pace.
The second half saw much of the same as the Adelphi offense dominated, outshooting Molloy, 18-3. Pace notched the final goal of the game in the 53rd minute to give the Panthers their fourth consecutive win, 6-0.
Adelphi returns to conference action next Wednesday, September 18, hosting New York Institute of Technology at 4:00 p.m. at Stiles Field.
