The Adelphi University Women's Soccer Team opened the 2002 campaign with a 2-0 win over host Stonehill College, Saturday afternoon at the Stonehill Tournament. The Panthers are 1-0 on the season, while the Chieftans fall to 0-1.

Junior Jennifer Garone scored the first goal at 26:30 on an assist from Lena Dunning. Sophomore Josephine Coiro picked up the second Adelphi goal just seven minutes into the second half on an assist by junior Luciana Pace.

Junior goalkeeper Andrea Fasano recorded four saves for her shutout of the season.

Adelphi returns to action tomorrow, facing Merrimack College at 12:00 p.m.
