Easton, Mass. - The Adelphi women's basketball team suffered a 76-52 loss to Assumption College in day one of the Stonehill Coca-Cola Christmas Classic in Easton, Mass. The Panthers drop to 4-3 on the season, while the Greyhounds improve to 4-5.

Kerri Kirschbaum led the Panthers with 10 points, followed by Jamie Douglas with nine points and six rebounds. Jesse Dlabola added seven points and nine steals for Adelphi.

The Greyhounds led early on, opening a 20 point lead at half-time, 41-21. Adelphi managed to close to within 13 points in the second half, but it was not enough.

Adelphi returns to action tomorrow, facing host Stonehill College at 3:00 p.m.
