New Haven, Conn. - The Adelphi University volleyball team fell to New Haven 30-19, 30-17, 30-24 in the first round of the NYCAC playoffs Saturday night. The Chargers, with the win, improve to 30-5 overall while Adelphi finishes the season 18-17 overall.

Senior Bernadette Mearini posted a team-high nine kills along with nine digs. Senior Cynthia Prizzi collected a team high 12 digs for the Panthers.

Ashlea Bonds had 14 kills while Lisette Jeppesen had 12 kills to lead UNH. New Haven will host the winner of Saturday's first round contest between Dowling College and Mercy College this Tuesday night at Charger Gym (7 p.m.)

Adelphi finishes the season, 18-17 (.514), posting its best finish in school history.
