Women's Soccer Shutouts Queens, 6-0

Garden City, N.Y. - The Adelphi University women's soccer team shutout Queens today, 6-0, this afternoon at Stiles Field. For the second straight game the Panthers had a balanced attack with six different players scoring goals. The Panthers improve to 13-1-2 overall, while the Knights fall to 5-10.

The first goal of the game came in the 9th minute when sophomore Josephine Coiro lost a defender at the top of the box and scored. Approximately a minute and a half later at the 10-minute mark junior Domonique Riccardo scored on an assist from junior Marissa Cotilletta. The Panthers next goal came in the 12th minute when junior Luciana Pace scored on an assist from Coiro. Adelphi's fourth goal came in the 20th minute of the contest when junior Jennifer Garone scored. The final goal of the half came from junior Lena Dunning, giving the Panthers a 5-0 lead into the half.

As night fell, Adelphi's six and final goal was scored at the 78-minute mark by sophomore Dina Cali.

The Panthers out-shot the Knights 27-4 and had a 4-0 corner kick advantage. With the win Adelphi improves their home win streak to 21 games.

Adelphi returns to action Saturday, November 2 at New Haven and then returns home Saturday, November 9 for their final game of the season.
