Brookville, N.Y. - Junior Domonique Riccardo's lone goal in the 58th minute pulled the Adelphi women's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over conference foe C.W. Post, Wednesday afternoon. This was the first win for the Panthers at Post in three years. The win extends the Panthers win streak to 9-0, 5-0 in the NYCAC. The Pioneers drop to 4-2-3 on the season, 1-1 in the NYCAC.

The rivalary between the two teams is legendary. Last year, Adelphi defeated Post, 2-1, to win their first conference title since 1997.

In a hard fought and physical match, both teams had several opportunites to score in the first half.

Midway throught the second half, Riccardo scored on a header off of a pass from junior Luciana Pace for the goal at 57:18. The Panther defense continued to wear down the Pioneers and they were unable to respond.

Adelphi's offense was relentless, as the Panthers outshot the Pioneers, 13-6

Adelphi goalkeeper Andrea Fasano collected two saves. C.W. Post's Paige Pepper had four saves.

Next up, the Panthers traveling to Concordia for a Sunday afternoon conference match-up. Kick off is at 12:00 p.m.
