Carlos Acevedo, who spent time as an assistant coach with the Panthers from 2016-18, made his return to the Adelphi sidelines on Sade Jackson's staff in 2021-22.

He is responsible for overseeing all recruiting efforts as the team's recruiting coordinator.

Acevedo's debut as Jackson's lead assistant saw the Panthers finish the regular season at 12-11 and reach the opening round of the NE10 Tournament. With his guidance, Emily Miccile became the first NE10 Defensive Player of the Year in the program's history.

The next year, Ty'zhea Hawkins' excellence on the court resulted in an NE10 First Team All-Conference honor -- the first Panther since 2020 to receive such high praise.

Acevedo assisted with recruiting in his two earlier seasons with the program, in addition to developing scouting reports and practice plans and juggling multiple administrative duties.

In 2016-17, Acevedo helped guide the Panthers to a 27-5 finish that resulted in an NE10 Southwest Division regular-season title and the program's second and most recent NE10 Tournament Championship.

Since returning to Adelphi, Acevedo coached as a boys' varsity assistant at Christ the King High School, and more recently, as the head junior varsity girls' coach at Greenwich Country Day School.

While at Christ the King, Acevedo steered the Royals toward a CHSAA City Championship in 2019.

Additionally, Acevedo had the opportunity to coach the NY Rens and Bria Holmes' Elite AAU basketball programs.

Acevedo, who hails from Queens, earned his master's degree in Physical Education from Adelphi in 2020 and graduated with his bachelor's degree in Corporate Communications from Baruch College in 2011.
