Jalen Jennings became the first diver to qualify for the NCAA Championship in nearly 30 years. The freshman from Tecumseh, MI, placed first in two rounds of diving off the one meter board last weekend at William Paterson in Wayne, New Jersey. His scores of 211.80 and 284.24 were combined in this format to meet the 11 dives required for the championship format on the 1 meter board, giving Jennings a total score of 496.04, easily surpassing the NCAA qualifying mark of 440. For his efforts, he was named the Northeast-10 Diver of the Week for the second straight time.
