Campbell Tabbed Panther Award Recipient; Brown, Feliz Named Panther Leadership Winners

This release serves as the first of a series of recaps that will recap the awards that were given at this year's End of the Year Awards Ceremony, held Monday, May 2.

The Panther Award is presented to a member of the department that has shown their support and dedication to the student-athletes through exceptional service.

Campbell has served as the associate head coach for the last decade, and has committed his time to bettering the lives of the student-athletes in the program. He has developed All-Americans and National Qualifiers all while teaching life lessons - and for that his value has been honored by the department with this award.

The female award winner earned the honor for the third-consecutive year and served as captain of the field hockey team this past fall. Jackie Brown was the president of Adelphi's Student Athlete Advisory Committee and co-chair of the NE10 Committee for the 2021-22 academic year. A five-year member of the field hockey program, she has garnered NFHCA and Synapse Sports All-America honors, as well as earning a spot on the CoSIDA Academic All-District squad.

Brown graduated with her bachelor's degree in business administration in 2021 and is now enrolled in the business administration master's degree program. She owns a 3.94 grade-point average and was recently named a CoSIDA Academic All-American en route to being named NE10 Woman of the Year this month.

"It has been an honor and a privilege to represent the Brown and Gold over the last five years here at Adelphi. When the opportunity arose to come back and play for my final year, I didn't even have to think about it – it was an obvious yes," Brown commented.

"The Adelphi Athletics community is unmatched when it comes to excellence, and I am forever grateful that I have been able to experience it firsthand."

The male recipient, Tim Feliz, captained the baseball team and helped them to another NCAA Tournament berth. Feliz also sat on the SAAC executive board this school year, and actively helped with community engagement efforts.

A four-year member of the program, Feliz owned a .339 batter on the field this season and made his mark as a terrific teammate. He is decorated with NE10 All-Conference and NCBWA All-Region accolades.

It is a great honor to be receiving this award," said Feliz. "Coming into Adelphi I took notice of the great leadership skills some of the older players on the team had. They taught me how to carry myself on and off the field and how to become the best teammate possible.
