Tim O'Meara is entering his fifth season as an assistant men's lacrosse coach at Adelphi University. O'Meara came to Garden City from Holy Cross College, where he was an assistant coach; his responsibilities included defensive coordinator, coordinating recruiting and scouting as well as coaching the goalies.

Prior to his work at Holy Cross O'Meara was the head men's lacrosse coach at Western New England College. O'Meara was at Western New England from 1996 thru 2001 and led the Golden Bears to their first ever top-ten ranking in the New England coaches poll (NEILA) in 2000 and repeated the feat in 2001. O'Meara was also selected to coach the west team in the NEILA East-West All-Star game, twice as the head coach.

O'Meara began his coaching career as an assistant at Springfield College in 1994, helping Springfield to a runner-up finish in the 1995 NCAA National Championships. O'Meara was a four-year starter at the University of New Hampshire and was an all New-England selection in 1993. O'Meara graduated from New Hampshire in 1993 with a degree in Sports Communication and then furthered his education at Springfield, receiving a master's degree in Athletic Administration.

O'Meara is currently employed by NYC schools as Dean and PE teacher at Mott Hall IV middle school in Brooklyn, and resides in Oceanside with his wife Jess.
