Results
Hopkinton, N.H. - Traveling to New Hampshire for the NCAA East Region Preview meet, the men's and women's teams of the cross country program each claimed third place earlier today at the Frankin Pierce hosted Bruce Kirsh Cup.
Freshman
Nicole Julian led the effort for the women's team on the 5k course by racing to a time of 19:34.7 for seventh place and helping the Brown and Gold post an average time of 20:25.
Nicole Elarde secured 25th for the Panthers by claiming a time of 20:24.9 followed by 20:40.2 finish for
Stefani Ritter in 30th.
Brianna Delzell finished exactly a second behind Ritter to take 31st.
Taylor Velez notched a time of 20:47.7 to be the fifth Panther across the line in 36th. Rounding out the seven scoring runners for the women was
Gabriela Saltos in 54th and
Roey Mappa in 68th with respective times of 21:25.9 and 21:52.2.
The men's team claimed third place behind an average 8k time of 27:01 that was highlighted by an eighth place finish of 26:32.7 from
Michael Grady.
Jose Velasquez came in at 11th at 26:42.0 followed by
Gerard Connelly in 18th at 27:05.0.
Branden Warders finished just outside the top-20 by claiming 22nd place in 27:20.7 with
Michael Scott in two spots back at 27:25.7. The team's top performer last time out,
Sean Grady raced in for 31st place by clocking in at 27:36.1. Rounding out the top-seven effort was
Anthony Coccia at 28:06.3 for 37th place.
Looking ahead, the Panthers return to competition on Saturday, October 1 with a trip to Bethlehem, Pa. for the Paul Short Run hosted by Le High University. The slate of races is scheduled for a 9:30 am start. Stay tuned to AUPanthers.com for race schedules.

Nicole Julian was the second freshman across the line today, finishing less than a second behind Bentley Rookie Paige Fehskens.
- Merrimack claimed the women's 5k title while Southern New Hampshire earned the men's 8k crown.
