Robert Modica was the fourth All-American lacrosse player ever selected in Adelphi’s history, earning the nod in 1957. During his tenure wearing the Brown and Gold, Modica served as the co-captain of the lacrosse team while also receiving its most valuable player award as a senior. Modica also was a member of Adelphi’s football and soccer teams.
Off the field, Modica served as the president of his senior class, member of Flambeau and was elected to Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities. His work also led to the co-sponsoring of the annual citation for devotion in sport.
