Adelphi University Athletics

Bedell came to Adelphi after serving four years in the U.S. Air Force. He played both lacrosse and basketball, serving as team captain for both teams. In 1957, he earned All-American honors in lacrosse. He was a member of Who’s Who of American Colleges and Universities and was President of the Physical Education Club. He went on to coach freshman basketball for three years, helping to develop some of Adelphi’s most outstanding players. He later served as Adelphi’s Director of Athletics from 1966-76.
