Adelphi University Athletics

Ruth is the fifth member of Adelphi’s Faculty to be installed in the Hall of Fame.  She participated in Field Hockey, Basketball, and Softball and received the highest athletic award for women in 1939, 1940, and 1941.  She also received other citations, including a place in Who’s Who, a member of Lantern, Secretary of her class and the WAA.  Her coaching career started in 1945 and continued through 1965 during which she coached Field Hockey, Basketball, tennis and Softball.  She served on the Selection Committee for the Long Island Field Hockey Association and Director of Women’s Physical Education from 1952-1965 and is presently Chairperson of the University’s Faculty Senate.
