Dr. Eddy came to the Adelphi campus in 1937 and was instrumental in bringing about the return of intercollegiate athletics following World War II with the re-entrance of men to the Adelphi student body.
Through his guidance and perseverance, the Panthers have raised their athletic program to its highest rating and a ranking as one of the largest in the country among institutions of similar size. He is credited for turning the corner at Adelphi University as the school was near bankrupt and he made it a thriving institution.
