During his four years as a Panther basketball player, Gimpel had a successful career filled with records and awards. He currently holds the single season record for assists with 243 and career steals with 215. He also is second in career assists (664), tied for third with 120 games played, and ranks 11th in scoring with 1,393 points. As a freshman, he led the team with 76 assists and was named to the NYCAC All-Rookie Team and helped the Panthers to an ECAC Championship. Additionally, throughout his career, he earned Second-team All-NYCAC and First-team All-MET honors, a NYCAC Tournament MVP, team MVP and was also elected as Adelphi’s Freshman, Junior and Senior Male Athlete of the Year awards.
