Jackson was a member of the 1951-1953 Panther basketball teams that compiled a 33-14 record playing for legendary coach George Faherty. He was with the Yonkers Police Department from 1952 to 1968 and served with the Westchester County Sheriffs Department from 1968 until his retirement in 1973. During his 20 years of law enforcement he received over 40 awards and citations for distinguished public service. Jackson was awarded the Distinguished Service Award by the Drug Enforcement Administration in 1985 and was inducted into the Westchester Chapter of the National Football League Foundation Hall of Fame, receiving its Distinguished American Award.
