Adelphi University Athletics

Robert attended Farmingdale J.C. and participated in basketball, indoor and outdoor track.  He received their Most Valuable Player Award in 1959.  At Adelphi, he continued his excellent performance in track. He established records in the High and Long Jump and in the High and Low Hurdles.  He was the team high scorer, both indoors and outdoors for two seasons.  Adelphi has never had a more versatile performer; he would score points in as many as nine events. His top performance was 39 points in a meet, a record that has never been broken.  He was presented with the Outstanding Track Award in 1960 and 1961.
