Linda Jelovich

Head coach Linda Jelovich is currently in her 16th season at the helm of Adelphi University's men and women's swim team.

During the 2012-2013 season, the men’s and women’s swim team captured sixth and seventh place at the Northeast-10 Championship, respectively. In addition the men placed 16th at the Metropolitan Championships, while the women placed 11th. Jelovich also had a hand in mentoring Jalen Jennings, the programs first NE-10 and Metropolitan Conference diving champion. He was later named Co-Diver of the Meet and went on to compete in the NCAA Division II Championships.  For the fourth consecutive year, Jelovich had a student-athlete named to the NE-10 Winter Academic All-Conference team.

In the 2011-12 season, Jelvoich led the men’s team to a fifth place finish and the women’s team to an eighth place showing at the Northeast-10 Conference Championship. The women’s and men’s teams also placed 10th and 11th, respectively, at the Metropolitan Championships. The team closed out the season at the ECAC Championships, where the men placed 10th overall and the women placed 14th. Jelovich also had two athletes named to the NE-10 Winter Academic All-Conference Team for the third straight year.

In the 2010-11 season, Jelovich guided the men's team to a sixth-place finish at the Northeast-10 Championships, while the women placed eighth. The men and women also placed 11th and 12th at the Metropolitan Championships, respectively. The men's 400 medley relay and the 200 freestyle relay both set school records as did freshman Gabrielle Terzano in the 200 butterfly. For the second straight season, Jelovich placed a swimmer on the NE-10 Winter Academic All-Conference team.

In 2009-10, Jelovich guided the men's team to their first title at the Metropolitan Championships. In the championship win, two made NCAA "B" cuts, six made ECAC "A" cuts, and two made ECAC "B" cuts. At the ECAC's in Pittsburgh, the men placed 13th and took down three records that were previously set at METs.

In the 2008-09 season, Jelovich helped Corey McKee reach the NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships in the 200-yard fly and place 16th in the event. The freshman earned honorable mention All-American kudos for his effort, and marked the first Panther to swim in the competition in nearly 20 years.

Over her decade of being the head coach of the Brown and Gold's aquatics, Jelovich has help rewrite all the Panthers' records except three, including nine records broken by the men this season: 200 Free, 500 Free, 1000 Free, 1650 Free, 100 back, 200 IM, 400 IM, 400 Free Relay, and the 800 Free Relay. Under her direction both squads have consistently posted top ten finishes in the Metropolitan Championships and have done well on an individual level at East Coast Athletic Conference Championships.

Prior to taking over as head coach, she held a one year stint as the assistant swim coach. Jelovich is an alumnus of Adelphi University, graduating with a B.A. in Elementary Education in 1996, a Master's in Physical Education in 1998 and a second Masters in Health Education in August 2002.
